SphinxSelfie Series are mixed media drawings based on visual introspection and reflects the combination of different media- traditional and new. It facilitates self, identity exploration and emotional discovering which is crucial to one’s own happiness. From the Ancient Greeks to present day, people have used self-study and self-observation to explore identity and sense of self. . Nowadays, the numbers and frequency of selfies increased so the phenomenon has garnered great attention. It is usually viewed as narcissism and moral decline. But, on the other hand, it can be taken as a by-product of technology-enabled self-exploration. It is created as a response to a global environment that is culturally diverse, technologically advancing, and multifaceted. It argues against a consumer society, against a mass society and a mass pop-culture.
