As an artist, I am objectifying my thoughts about reality, so that the beholder will have a contemplative experience of the kind of world I value. I talk regularly with people about topics such as feminism, gender inequalities, sexism and the constant objectification many of us face day in and day out. This kind of objectification exists in art as a continuation of objectification in society. There is also the objectification of art by art historians, critics, and psychologists when it comes to explaining art and the aesthetic experience. These pieces are art campaigns against objectifying, showing that in many cultures people are raised to objectify or be objectified. It can be any of us, we all can wear ‘objectifying ARTwear’. |
